Our Story
The Calculendar
There are many calculendars out there - and we praise them all, as they are all based on the beauty of math and tesselation. The technique of building shapes that can be arranged to fit perfectly side by side like the pattern of a bathroom wall or a brick road has been known from ancient Rome. You can imagine each brick of the calculendar being cut out of a mosaic like that.
We started out as users of the square boards ourselves. For Signe, being unemployed, it became an obsession. After time she no longer found them challenging, as she was so familiar with the shapes - the pattern was already recognized.
Johannes, the engineer of the business, figured he could make it more difficult for her with more complex geometrical figures. The hexagon has six rotations on each side, which gives you more possible placements to eliminate as correct - making the task of isolating todays date harder. Working with AI, he created additional boards. We have an overview of the solutions in our database and we know each day is AI proven to be solvable.
In close collaboration with Claude (code), we have carved the bricks out of the mosaic for you to play with. Now it's up to you to create that magic feeling when you flip a piece and it suddenly falls into place.
